Officine Panerai On Middle East Plans

Regional MD Milvin George discloses why the luxury Italian watchmaker shuns traditional marketing to reach its fan base.

You are not going to see their billboards splashed across the UAE and you will be hard-pressed to find them advertising the way some mega Swiss watch brands do. But if you understand your watches or are on the path to being a watch connoisseur, you will have heard of Officine Panerai.

A Panerai clock for Expo 2015

On the occasion of Expo 2015 in Milan, Officine Panerai is donating the world time clock to the info point at the Expo gate.

A large Panerai wall clock, with the iconic minimalist design which makes every timepiece of the Florentine brand immediately recognisable, enables anyone entering the Info Point at the Expo Gate at Piazza Castello to read the time in Milan and five other world capitals, chosen for their international vocation and their connection with Universal Expositions: London, New York and Paris (seat of the BIE, the Bureau International des Expositions) and also Shanghai and Dubai (hosts respectively of the last and the next Universal Expositions).

Like all the brand’s timepieces, the clock provides exceptional visibility at night, making it legible even in darkness, and it is therefore visible at all times from outside the Info Point, thanks to the building’s ethereal structure of transparent glass and tubular steel.

Panerai Radiomir Firenze 3 Days. PAM604

Panerai-RADIOMIR-FIRENZE-PAM604-19Text by: Ariel Adams (ABTW)

For 2015, has a few interesting new watches, but my favorite is the Panerai Radiomir Firenze 3 Days Acciaio 47mm aka PAM00604 (PAM604). This is really a watch for collectors, and Panerai has made especially sure that the PAM604 very much fits into Panerai lore, being available for sale exclusively in the brand’s flagship boutique store in Florence, Italy, or Firenze in Italian – the city where the Panerai brand started. Hence the name of the watch “Radiomir Firenze.”

Watches: Maranez Rawai. Full Visual Review by Erwan Grey

As fate would have come to me this watch, by the decision of a film production company to get it as a possible accessory for a supporting actor. Obviously, this watch is an inspiration of known Panerai PAM341 “Egiziano”. However, leaving aside the comparisons, I liked the design as far as differences are concerned, and especially its good finish. With some smooth lines in design and a strong finish, the Maranez is a good choice for those who like watches size and vintage inspiration and submersible watches. The creation of this watch lasted 9 months (without the design process) only for making the first copy. Sigue leyendo

Diver Watches; Bulova Sea King Automatic 96B226 Limited Edition.

Bulova saw more strong new watch offerings for Baselworld 2015 – with attractive designs and strong values. What I love about the “Bulova of today” is that in addition to its mainstream offerings, there are more and more products specifically designed for the watch aficionado, such as this limited edition version of the new Bulova Sea King – which feels like a less expensive alternative to the Omega Seamaster Ploprof watch. So let’s check out this circa $1,500 mechanical 1000-meter diver new from Bulova for 2015.

Breitling Emergency II. GOLD FULL REVIEW (Bilingual version English-Spanish)

Full Review of Breitling Emergency II in two languages, English and Spanish. A watch that many hate and others worship, top technology for emergency stages of carrieres this fantastic watch in my opinion.

English Text. (Spanish text Below)

Breitling introduced its Breitling Emergency watch — the first wristwatch with a built-in emergency microtransmitter — in 1995. Since then, the watch has been worn and used by many professional pilots and has played a role in numerous search-and-rescue missions. At Baselworld 2013, Breitling introduced another world-first with its Emergency II, the first watch with a dual frequency locator beacon.

The original Breitling Emergency, which was designed to enable accurate homing in on pilots or passengers following a plane crash, operated on the 121.5 MHz international air distress frequency. Pilots prized it for its utility: it could be worn constantly on the wrist and serve as a supplement to standard onboard aircraft equipment. Around 40,000 Breitling Emergency watches have been sold since their launch.

The Breitling Emergency II represents the next generation of its predecessor’s life-saving microtechnology. The very first wristwatch equipped with a built-in personal locator beacon (PLB), its dual frequency transmitter is compliant with the specifications of the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite alert system and can be used both to issue alerts and to guide search-and-rescue missions.
